Bernhardsthal is the ideal starting point for bike tours through the gently rolling countryside of the Weinviertler Dreiländereck.
Only 2 minutes walk away is the largest landscape pond of the Weinviertel. With its 25 hectares of water, it invites you to go hiking and pedal boating. A special feature of this pond is the division by the railroad brick bridge of the Kaiser- Ferdinand-Nordbahn. It dates back to 1839 and is the oldest preserved railroad structure in Austria.
Weinviertel has with 13,000 ha is Austria's largest wine-growing region, which is known for its wine cycle paths or cellar alleys. Far beyond the borders of Austria is famous for the Grüner Veltliner of the Weinviertel.

The eastern part of the Weinviertel, where Bernhardsthal is located, lies above the beautiful Leiser mountains and borders on the neighboring Czech Republic and Slovakia. The eastern part of the region encloses the gently hilly country around Laa, with the only thermal spa in the entire Weinviertel. Due to the meeting of different cultures, one can experience very special wine, culture and nature here. As the name of the region suggests, the Leiser Berge with the Buschberg, the highest elevation in the Weinviertel, are part of the eastern Weinviertel. The ideal place to unpack your hiking boots or mountain bike.
The March-Thaya floodplains are also particularly scenic. The area is said to be one of the most beautiful and interesting floodplain landscapes in Central Europe. The two rivers March and Thaya can best be explored by canoe and kayak.  Wine experience of a special kindLarge parts of this region form the wine route Weinviertel Veltlinerland.
